SummaryAs usual, my opinions are {bracketed}.This book is the first book in The Mediator series by Meg Cabot. The series has six books, and all of the books are around three-hundred pages long. The main character of the series is Susannah Simon, better known as Suze. She is your average sixteen year-old girl, apart from the fact that she is a mediator, a liasion between the living and the dead. She had to help the ghosts get to their final destination by finishing whatever business they left behind when they died. And they tend to not leave Suze alone until they get help. The book starts with Suze's arrival in Carmel, California. Her mom had recently remarried and they moved to live with Suze's new step-dad, Andy Ackerman. Suze's father died when she was only a little girl. However, she still sees her dad from time to time as a result of her mediator status.
When Suze arrives in her new home, a ghost greets her as she unloads her stuff in her new bedroom. He died around one hundred and fifty years ago. The unusual thing about this Jesse, the ghost's name, is that he is young. And attractive. { And so the
shipping starts. } Suze tries to ignore this as she adjusts to living in California with three step brothers. Suze has her own nicknames for them; the oldest is Jake (Sleepy), Brad (Dopey), and David (Doc). When she starts going to her new catholic school, she meets a recently deceased girl named Heather. When Suze meets Heather, Father Dominic is with her. Father Dom, the school prinicpal, is a mediator as well.
To be continued......
